Question Sail Switch

Good morning, I have a 2018 Keystone Premiere 30 RIPR. How do I know which sail switch to buy? My heater is not working and rumor has it his is one of the issues plaguing this trailer.

You should have the make an model, that is all it should take. The switch likely isn’t bad, just movement is blocked.

The make and model of the furnace not the trailer.

What kind of access do you have to the furnace? If there is an exterior access plate then checking/cleaning the sail switch if pretty easy. They rarely go bad but it's possible. It's more common for some lint to get blown between the contacts.

Also, sometimes just wiggling the various wire connections can improve contact to the main board. I just had that happen on our trailer, and also had it happen on previous trailers. I thought it might be a dirty sail switch...it wasn't. But after pulling the main board to check for shorts, I reinstalled it and it worked again.

PS...welcome aboard! I hope you stick around.

Dometic did have a bad run of sail switches. I had one that bench tested fine but failed when the furnace was in the unit.
