WifiRanger, what about it?

I have found a switch in the control cabinet marked "WIFI Ranger." We received no brochure covering this item. Any idea where to look to see where it might be mounted or how to find out about it? I have not been on the roof to see if there is an antenna anywhere to go along with this.

WifiRanger, what about it?

WiFi ranger is an antenna, and it can be mounted separate or attached to the tv antenna. It is short and best way to describe is shaped like a piece of sidewalk chalk.

If you locate it, then you'll need to contact their tech support as it has its own "network" for you to join and requires a password. It's basic duty is to find networks and amplify the signal.

DW just looked at me when I read this to her and she said it quite succinctly:
"Now you know. Probably money involved."
Thanks Chuckster.

Just like that "free Sirius radio" (part of a no-option option) with its "free" 6 month trial subscription......

Only money would be if the unit wasn't on the roof. Can't say I've seen units prewired for that, Tiffen does come with winegard WiFi antenna on some models and they are pretty much all prewired for it.

I did find the unit and antenna on the roof, towards the front of the trailer. Tech support is going to call me today and talk me through the setup. Many thanks....

Marshall, one would think that their site would have all the answers for someone who is reasonably computer literate (at least for one 69 years old) but after looking at the instructions and the videos for 45 minutes I gave them a call. Mainly I can't figure out how to change the password.

I figured the password would get you. You may need serial number. Once you get it going I can tell you that your going to like using it. Since it has its own "firewall" you let it connect to the CG WiFi and then you connect to it. Log into its network and only those with the password can "see" you.

It's on my list of things to get after installing a bunch and seeing it work firsthand.

Jim looks like you'll have to wait for that call. I use one from Jeffa-tech and that info is in the manual. Hope your "up and running" soon!
