Angry No propane in tanks

We just took our first trip in our 2015 Alpine 5th wheel. We got to our first stop and our fridge was not working. I found out the two propane tanks were empty. The dealer must have put enough in the one tank to do his prep. I would have thought that for what we paid for the trailer they could have filled the tanks. They should have at least told us to get them filled. I ended up having to get them filled in the rain.

Welcome to the forum

worry to hear of your issue. If this is your first purchase of an RV, you have learned a valuable lesson unfortunately the hard way. There doesn't seem to be any standard for the level of service or preparation of delivery from dealership to dealership. This isn't a Keystone issue, but rather a "dealer" issue. I worked at a dealer that filled cylinders and installed new batteries as part of the PDI on all sold units. Not so much the same where I work now.

Lets hope this is the only issue you have.

It may not be the dealer's fault. I had a regulator fail and lost a whole bottle of propane. Fill your tanks and only turn one on until you have verified the problem was an oversight(or intentional) or faulty equipment.

Sounds like the dealer short changed you IMO. I would give them a call to voice my thoughts on it. If they said they were filled then you may need to look into the regulator as mentioned above. I also had both tanks filled (twice - once on a warranty visit that had nothing to do with the propane - the GM just told the tech to go fill the bottles) plus the gift card.......

The dealer said all my manuals where in trash can, I got home and all the most important manual's where missing and no remotes for the 2 t v. My dealer is reasonable to deal with you will find the department will pass the buck. Forget the sale person go right to the sale manager he may not know what is going on. I picked up my 2015 311 for minor warranty and did a walk around checking every thing and found the new battery dead as a nail. The yard boy came out with a fork lift and charged it for 1/2 hour lol .

Every dealer I've ever dealt with start you with two 30#ers full, probably $20.00 wholesale, plus the Gift Card. Check back with your dealer. When you hire $8.00 an hour lot boys.... need I say more?

Our Top of the line Alpine 3535RE walk thru was delivered by the "part timer" 17 y.o. nephew of the owner. I knew more about the rig than he did! We got it all corrected before stroking a check, we brought them the lunch receipt from the local diner for lunch and cocktails while we waited for b.s. stuff that should have been caught before delivery, which they paid, but definitely won't go back there! Not even for toilet paper, and chemicals!

That is a shame. Have bought cars where the dealer did not fill the tank but at least you can see that. Hope everything else is good for you.

Dealer supplies and setup

Our current dealer, filled the two 30 pound cylinders, a new deep cycle battery, and 'new owner' kit, even though we had better quality than the cheap waste hose and supplies given in the kit. The prior TT we bought, they didn't provide a battery, fill the propane cylinders, and basically said, "you don't want those cheap stuff anyway, here's what we'll sell you".

I'm not going to give the name of the 'nothing supplied dealer', but they're a large national chain. Real penny pinchers.

Very sorry indeed for the sketchy start! That's just not right. My small home town dealer started me off with full tanks and new battery.

Some things ya just gotta shake off and move on...better days are a coming!
