Yes...same problem. Assumed it was due to vacuum caused by normal operation. Not a big deal so far. 2012 Cougar

I get that too, even on the fridge. It feels like vacuum. I’m tempted to lightly coat the seal with silicone or olive oil to see if that helps.

Howdy All;

Are you using the 'unlocking' devise???
That small black lever on the door side of the handle hole.

Same issue for me too, especially if I open it after it was just opened. Vacuum pressure is what I was thinking.

Physics 101, warm air when cooled takes less volume resulting in a vacuum!

How about you go to the Gym and work out. Better you have a freezer hard to open than dump out all of your stuff in the floor on a bumpy road because the door flew open on its own.

Going to the gym hurts too much. And if you push your fridge/freezer door shut hard enough, it’ll click and won’t open by itself on a bumpy road.

Maybe next time it’s hard to open, I’ll jam a finger into the gasket to see if I can break the seal.

OUCH!!! That made my fingers hurt just thinking about it! I will think of some finger exercises instead of gym exercises (tsk tsk tsk, don't even think that stuff people!!) so then it won't hurt as bad.

:-))

These things seal really well. I have to mix all my drinks at once. My freezer opens easy on the first trip to the bag of ice, however, I have to give it a pretty good tug on the second trip. I attribute it to the warm air entering on the first opening, cooling, contracting and creating low pressure (vacuum) for the next trip.
