Lippert slideout slicker

Never heard of this, or even knew that I needed one. Does anybody’s slide wear the carpet?

It has been almost 4 years that our slide has been moving in and out across the carpet and we haven't noticed any signs of wear on the carpet from the slide edges. I doubt that these slideout slickers are a "must have" contrary to what the ad says. Wouldn't be something that I would run out and buy as I don't think we need them.
