A quick and dirty tire poll

Goodyear Endurance, Maxxis 8008 or Sailun? Just to see what the percentages are in this group.

Super Cargo, bought them in 2017. VERY heavy duty tire, much like Sailun. Paid $112 each IIRC.

None of the above run 16” Yokohama LT tires on our 5er.

What size/weight trailer and size of tire? That will make a difference.

It is a TT with a 10,500# GVWR and 225/75-15E tires.

The Endurance is the newest GY trailer tire venture. They have added sidewall scuff protectors which adds weight and they are expensive. The Maxxis is antiquated still having a 65 MPH speed restriction. The Sailun is an all steel design earmarked for 7000# & 8000# vehicle certified axles.

Comparisons could include Walmart's Free Country with the Endurance because they both have scuff guard inserts.

Any entry level ST tire has higher speed restrictions than the Maxxis.

Sailun got their rep by being a popular replacement tire for lessor load capacity tires. Numerous brands now have comparable all steel tires, some with 15". Carlisle CSL is one of them. Carlisle's CSL has the TRA max speed for ST tires, 81 MPH.

It would be unfair for me to vote as I've never used any of the above.

NOTE: If you're ever on US-301 in the Waldo, FL area, there is a huge flea market/farmers market there. There is a full time Maxxis sales and mounting vendor there that sells and mounts Maxxis tires of all designs at near wholesale prices.

Are we referencing the OPs trailer in his signature or just an open ended question? It wasn't specified.

Pointless unless you include rim size; Sailun is not available in 15" which probably 3/4 of the campers utilize. Perhaps adding OEM installed tires which are several different brands especially considering the rim size; 15" and 16" seem to have different OEMs installed.

His title line is "quick and dirty tire pole".

If you and I were having coffee at the corner store and I asked you for your recommendation for my 10,500 pound TT, what would you say? I've made the decision to replace the originals but would like to make an informed buying decision.

Southwest, North Berwick, born and raised. Joined the Navy when I was 18. Did 31 years. Married a southern girl and landed here in the SC foothills after our full time years.

Being a 2018 model trailer it already had the RVIA 10% load capacity reserves included with the OE tires. I like 15% and would go up a load range if the OE tires load capacity provides less than that.

Brands are personal and it can be discouraging to recommend a brand that fails. RV tire usage plays a big roll in tire durability. Almost all of our early tire failures came after setting in a seasonal site for 2-4 months with tires already having a couple of years usage.

Nice area. Rural but still close to I-95. I was born and raised in Biddeford, moved across the line to Arundel after 4 years in the USAF. Been here over 40 years now.

Sailun, and I had to add 'this' because my vote was only one word.

There is no question mark at the end of my sentence, there is a period, making it a statement.

Did the OP PM you to tell you that? His original question did not specify.....
And yes, that is not only a statement but a question. His clarification came after your assumption.
