Gas Furnace issues

Hello,
We have a 2017 Cougar 327RLK which had Dometic air con units in the lounge and bedroom which we removed recently as we didn't use them. They, along with the Suburban Gas Furnace, was operated from a control panel on the wall. Since removing the air con units, the control panel is "dead" so we are unable to operate the furnace.
Does anyone have a solution please?
Thanks in advance.
Phil

If you removed the AC units, you removed the control board that controls the furnace.

When you use the thermostat and ask for “heat”, that signal goes to the control board in the primary AC unit, and it in turn sends a signal to the furnace. My explanation may be over simplified but should give you the basic idea.

I agree, the two systems were designed and intended to work together, not separately. This is to avoid heat and AC operating at the same time. If the AC’s are gone, you will need to rewire the furnace to operate on it’s own off a separate thermostat. This is not something that anyone can simply walk you through in a forum, you need a knowledgeable professional.

Kiwi......'Im just curious as to why you took off the AC units in the first place? I suspect for the weight factor? Still that's only up to give or take maybe 100#'s total for 2-13,500 BTU units.
You need to find the remaining wires left in the wall where the removed thermostats were. Than like it has been said....wire the heat to a switch or another wall thermostat.
Good luck.Click image for larger version
