Roof and front cap seam

I was wondering if the seam was done correctly from the factory. Its on a 2019 Bullet 248RKS. The seam looks like a black grid across the roof. What I am used to seeing is Dicor Lap Seal instead of the grid. Does anyone’s seam look like that???

In this situation, a couple of photos would be worth a thousand words.....

I’ve seen that type of sealant job on lots of different brands. The important thing is the screws are covered and it looks like they are.

It’s just cheaper to do what they did.

It looks like a cost savings measure by Keystone. Would it be best to fill-in all of those spaces with sealant? And is the sealant Dicor self leveling lap sealant? There is a lot of edge length the way that they did that and it just seems that there is more chance of sealant separating. Any idea how many tubes this will take? Maybe I am paranoid!

You can use Dicor self leveling. Clean the area good and have fun!! A couple tubes should do it.

Any explanation of how that "system" is supposed to seal the cap seam?

Most likely there is putty or butyl tape underneath the rails, Dicor seals the screws/holes. I’ve seen it for a number of years and haven’t had a customer come back with leaks...yet.
