Liquid in Black tank after dumping

2017 Passport 2400BH - have had no major issues. When I dump black tank & fluid stops draining - when I look in toilet with valve open it looks like liquid is still in the tank. Is this typical, does anyone else see that?

Have not used tank spray yet - as my vacuum breaker check valve is reversed (going to replace it soon). I have filled tank with water & flushed a second time - still see liquid.

Thanks.

It's going to be next to impossible to remove ALL the waste water from any of your gray/black tanks. In fact, I had to repair the handle on my waste tank recently. My gray tank was supposedly "empty" from the last trip as I always drain to a trickle. I used a 5 gallon bucket to drain any remaining waste water from the gray tank and noted about 3.5 gallons. Based on the position of the coach, water can cavitate in a low lying area and remain there.

Your black tank is around 30 gallons and I would suggest, as others probably do, to keep a couple of gallons in the tank, along with a deodorizer, cleaning agent, and/or water softener. Look up "GEO method" for black tank maintenance. And remember to never use bleach down the black tank as it can degrade seals and such.

Our tank is 3 seasons old and works like it did on our maiden voyage.
