Plumbing

While I am breaking down camp, I always take the time to thoroughly drain both my holding tanks and close both valves. However, when I remove my drain cap on the next trip, a large amount water comes out. Is this normal? Is there any way to prevent it?

The easiest way would be to add a twist-on valve where the cap would go and close that valve also. There always seems to be more liquids left in all the tanks and lines that migrate towards the drain line end when you are rolling down the road. https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-T58-.../dp/B000BGHYJS

If your closing the valves completely and since all your drain lines have a downward slope you shouldn't get any water out of the cap at your next stop. If you are getting water then you may have a valve that's not sealing properly. As mentioned if you are getting additional water then a twist on valve will work to stop the water but obviously if you have a valve not sealing your just putting a band aid on the problem.
