Leak under bathroom sink

Hello all,

There has been a leak under the bathroom sink in my 2016 Passport 2400BH. The sink is on the opposite side as the tub. I have noticed water on the outside of the sink cabinet. It is weird in that I really can't find any wet pipes under the sink. The water develops over night when no one uses the sink and since we started noticing the leak we don't use the sink at all, but still a leak. There really isn't a lot of water, but still it causes the floor damage. I have reached up inside and made sure all the pipe connectors were tight and found a couple a little loose. That stopped the leak for about a week and then it started up again. Any Ideas?

Re: Leak under bathroom sink

Sounds like you found the problem but it came loose again after a week . If you could get a wrench on the fittings and perhaps get it a bit more the hand tight . Be careful not to over tighten. Try putting some paper towels down to see exactly where the drip is coming from . Even with no use the supply lines are pressurized and if a bit loose will leak .

Re: Leak under bathroom sink

Pex lines use a cone washer where they connect to the faucet. After a while they compress and allow leaks. Since your trailer is new, it's possible the guy/girl at the factory didn't put it in right. They are real cheap, so replacing to rule it out is easy enough.

I haven't looked at your floor plan, but you only mentioned a wet floor, not anything about the cabinet. Look at other water sources such as the supply line to the toilet. It may be leaking with the water running to the sink area. It's a reach, but just a thought.

Re: Leak under bathroom sink

We used to have a passport 3100rk and I had the same sort of problem. What I ended up finding was the outside shower was not turned all the way off and would allow a small trickle of water to come in on the back side of that compartment and in the bathroom under the sink. Might just be something to check..

I had the same problem in my 2015 High Country and they had to replace the bathroom faucet in the sink.

Re: Leak under bathroom sink

My shower enclosure leaked profusely when taking my first shower, flooding the bathroom basically, man was i ticked. The next day in the campground I sealed the entire shower with silicone. I read on here about leaks, then took out the anti siphon valve from under the bathroom sink. Replaced it with an elbow before it broke and flooded the trailer. I hear about a lot of leaks on our new trailers.

Re: Leak under bathroom sink

The pipes fittings in RVs can and do come loose. Another reason to open cabinets under sinks and look if your not in them a lot. A bath sink fitting leaked after a short time and the kitchen sink had a fitting come loose enough to drip water after the 2nd year. Just tighten them up. With all the twisting and bouncing that goes on when towed it can happen.
