Low profile a/c unit on a fifth wheel

We just ordered a new 2014 Montana High Country model 305 RL fifth wheel and was wondering if anyone knows how much height a low profile ac unit would sit above ground level? I did talk to a factory rep at the RV show where I ordered the unit from and he was to check and get back to me but of course that hasn't happened. I have about 1 1/4" clearance according to my measurements on my overhead door but was looking into the low profile unit just for a little more clearance. Thanks in advance for you responses.

You say you have about 1 1/4" clearance to your overhead door. With measurements that close, be very VERY cautious about backing in. When you measure your RV sitting unhitched and it's 12'3" (example) and you hitch it to your truck and it sits 4" higher because of the angle of the hitch but the truck "squats" 3" from the pin weight, It's tough to know exactly where the A/C shroud would be backing through that door. If you are measuring as close as 1 1/4", I'd have someone on a ladder watching as I backed in.... All it would take is a slight dip in the drive, a hitch change, even a load configuration change to take up that small of a clearance. Close (very close) monitoring as you back in will prevent a potential "mess"

As for low profile vs standard AC shroud heights, according to the Dometic website, the Briskair 2 is 12 7/8" tall and the Penguin 2 is 9 1/2" tall.

It depends how much your trucks drops down after the 5th wheel is hitched and jacks are up. Also the profile of the roof in the front. On my 313RE High Country the roof over the bedroom is the highest point on the rv. I waited until I had mine for awhile then had the front ac installed. My clearance when hooked up on my truck is 12'9", the front ac unit is the highest point.

LarrynDeb, Howdy;

You can gain an inch or two by letting some of the air out of your trailer tires.
Just don't forget to air them back up again after you get it back out from under cover...

Under my RVport the side height is 12 ft. there may be an extra inch or so towards the front of it. I can stand on my front porch and look at that top railing. MY camper sets above that 12'2" rise an easy 8-9 inches. that puts me in the 13 foot tall range with my AC. even if I did not have that I would be above 12'5" easy.. I have the Penguin front mounted AC and its profile was around 9inches but I will go with JRTJH figures of 9.5".
So if you are close now there is NO low profile AC that low profile.
