Mounting M/C bedrack on sidelwall of Outback
Anyone have knowledge as to whether it is advisable to mount a steel wheel chock rack to the side (front wheel of motorcycles rolled into a 230RS and hit the sidewall of trailer head-on) of my new Outback toyhauler. I figure the steel bar will add strenght and rigidity to the sidewall of trailer when tie downs are cinched tight, lessen bowing possibility of wall and fiberglass, and provide for wheel stability of motorcyles.
Questions is: what is thickness of these Outback walls such that I don't screw into fiberglass exterior and does anyone know how I detect where vertical frame members exist in trailer so that if I use a self tapping metal screw, I hit something of substance. Thanks for input... Outback Will.
