Thin Shade Installation on 24RDS

Just wondering if anyone knows if the 2021 Cougar Half-Ton doors come prepped for Thin Shade installation?

Thanks. We were at the Store where our camper is stored and I saw those shades. I thought they were Thin Shade ready but wasn't sure.

my 2021 rds has the door prep and I bought the shade that goes in it. Expensive for what it is ,however it does go on an RV so there you go.

Whats prepped so it fits. On my trailer, I removed the window and installed the thin shade and window.

The frame on the inside of the window has slots the window shade locks into. Here’s a video that explains it better than I can.

Finally got it installed. Was super simple. It IS way more expensive than it should be for what you get is right! Still, it did cover the window.

Thanks for explaining the prep part. I cannot remember what mine cost since it included a darken glass pane and new frame was likely more than the already prep frame model. I installed it in the bedroom mainly to darken it up and it does that. I have never raised it since there is a large window in bedroom for light.
My only bad comment is mine is appears to be made of paper and wonder if it will take much rain before it is ruined. Back in the Willamette Valley we camped in a lot of rainy weather. Here in the high desert not so much. If I opened the door while raining it would get wet. The main door, I ended up having the glass tinted as dark as the thin shade glass.

Had dealer put one in when we bought the trailer. It kept falling down.

I discovered that the clips at the top were deformed and wouldn't engage fully.

I used some double sided tape at the top and it now is solid.

I have the same problem with the top clips. I was planning to hot glue but double sided tape may be a better idea. Thanks.

My 2019 did not come with the prepped slot. After researching the cost of the retrofit. and coming to the same conclusion you did (that I would rarely if ever raise it), I decided to pay $20 for two Camco 45167 aluminized panels, instead.

yes, they do...I returned it as it cannot be adjusted with the door closed, as the screen door will prevent it. It can only be deployed with the door open, when the screen door is out of the way
