Switching to a residential fridge will require an Inverter to keep it operating while driving. What happened to your current fridge? Brand/model? A new cooling unit may be a LOT cheaper.

I have replaced two cooling units, in two different 5ers, not not difficult. Got mine from RV cooling unit warehouse.

If you try and go with the residential style fridge then you will have to consider how you are gonna require the existing 120 volt AC outlet the Norcold fridge plugs into when using on electric mode..

You would have to remove the source wire for that outlet at power panel BUS and connect to the inverter and wire the inverter into the spot on the BUS panel where fridge originally was fed from

The issue here is if that fridge outlet was dedicated or had other outlets in line on that circuit..

Then you’d need a dedicated battery to power the inverter unless you wanted t9 risk killing the coach batteries…

It could all be easily done if you have the electrical skill sets

If it’s a Norcold 2118 look here for options:

https://jc-refrigeration.com/

I’m not affiliated with them. We have installed 2 120VAC units on Norcold 2118
