Outside Kitchen door

The pivot points for the hydraulic lifts on the door are pulling all the screws out. I'm waiting for the door to crash on my head. I tried running bolts thru the door completely and it only resulted in crushing the hollow door. Any fixes out there?

What I did was cut a piece of aluminum put bolts thru door and nuts and sandwiches the door between the metal pieces

I would look at an aluminum bar that runs from "nearly the top of the door to nearly the bottom of the door on each side. Install the bars "inside and outside the door panel" with screws to secure them in place. Then mount the lift attachment to the aluminum bars. I'd paint all of it to match the door exterior before installing it.

The aluminum plate is looking like my plan. I thought about using the cat walk type finish on the aluminum plate on the outside of the door because of the color matching that would be required. I hate having anything looking hokey but I may have no choice. Thanks for the responses though. I appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum. It would help you get answers if you shared some information. Go to the black banner above and click on "UserCP". Add a signature with ghe make, model, and yearbof your trailer and tow vehichle.

I have an outdoor kitchen and have not had issues with the gas struts pulling out the mounting screws. There were a issues IIRC for a year or so where it was happening and Keystone fid a fix with some plates under warranty.
