30 amp instead of 50 amp questions
I have a spot reserved at an Rv park, but all they had available was a 30 amp hookup.
So...
-do I still put my 50 amp EMS In line after the 30/50 converter?
-I know I can’t run both a/c units, but can I still run the heat pump?
So much to learn with this new unit!
Thanks, Larry

Should be able to run the heat pump. The main AC is on the primary side so everything should work on it even when you dog bone down to 30 amp

You should be fine. There is 1 30A hot lead in that 30A plug. It is simply bridged in the dog bone to each of the 50A legs for your trailer. You can have 30A wherever you use it but you still only have 30A feeding all that "stuff".

To address the unanswered question yes use your 50 Amp EMS plugged into the dogbone. It will still function the same.

Thank you! That was the question I was going to answer when I made my post and, over a short period of time, I got sidetracked.

If your EMS provides a readout of amperage just add L1 and L2 readings together and keep the total below 30. Be sure to turn off the electric water heater and be careful with microwave, fireplace, coffee maker, or space heaters. I just did this for a week in Colorado.
