Possible New Member - passport 2014

We are looking at buying a 2018 Passport 2410 RL. I was wondering why it does not have a roof ladder. Is the roof a "non-walk on"? How do you get leaves off the slide out if you can not get on the roof? Is there any thing / issues that I need to consider before we purchase this unit?

I can't answer about whether or not the roof is walkable, but I carried a Costco multi-position ladder in the pass through storage to clean the tops of slides of my Bullet.

Welcome from North Carolina.

Passport roofs are NOT walkable, so you need to put down foam or foam and a board to walk it. That said, I use a telescoping rod with brush to clean my roof, and I can lean up and lay out over to inspect the middle seam in the front. Rear seams can be inspected by moving the ladder around the back in several positions.

To get leaves off the slideout I carry a 4' ladder in my truck when camping. I also carry a small electric leaf blower. Put the ladder out next to the slide, climb it carrying the leaf blower and blow the leaves off from the ladder. No need to get on the roof.

We carry a collapsible 7' ladder in the pass thru along with a telescoping rod, brush end and a cordless leaf blower - never need to get on the roof.

I asked my dealer the same question, here is what I got:

"Your passport does not have a walk-able roof, that is why they are so light. They have what they call a serviceable roof, meaning a person can check condition and seals by crawling on their hands and knees. Thus, spreading the weight out over a larger area."
