Electric Tongue Jack Replacement?

Hello all, I have a 2011 Laredo (291TG) with a listed tongue weight of 785lbs. From what I can tell, the previous owner replaced the manual tongue jack with a 3500lbs LCI. It recently bought the farm and now I am looking to replace it. A quick search for the replacement jack finds the exact model at Camping world for a little under $300, but Amazon has other 3500lbs jacks for $70 (Best Choice Products model SKY1395)? I am well aware of "you get what you pay for", and am curious as to why the huge difference in price. Is there something I'm missing? Other than complaints that the cheaper jack is ridiculously slow, the cheaper jack has rave reviews.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at a picture of that jack, it looks a lot like some other brands I have installed. So It might be the same "generic" jack with a different brand on it. Would I use it? in a heartbeat. and FWIW in my opinion ALL electric jacks are slow. One's perception of slow may differ from another.

What Chuckster said. Keep in mind that the original electric LCI (now available on etrailer for $229) only lasted a couple years. I'd go for the $70 and see how it worked out.

Electric Tongue Jack

Hello,
I bought one of these last year, and it works great: http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Quick-300...ck+HH-3500#Ask They changed the switch area and the bubble level on top is gone now though. I haven't had any problems, and it's made well. It looks like the mounting plate on this one is stronger than the one you posted.

husky brute 4500

I also have a Laredo 291TG. The Stromberg 3500 on it would blow a fuse every time I went up and every time I went down. Last week it stopped working all together, finally.
I went to etrailer.com and found the husky brute 4500# (without the remote) for $225, free shipping. It had 144 rave reviews. Just got it in. Mounted it, but haven't finished the wireing yet. I am very optimistic.

X2 on the Husky Brute 4500. I bought the version with the remote and love it. Makes it really nice to raise/lower trailer while keeping an eye on the bubble level. Also has a place to store your cord on the back of unit. $250 shipped from Ebay.

I've had two trailers and I've always bought the cheapest China knock-off for both of them. They have never failed, never blown a fuse, always lifted the truck and trailer for easy installation... They don't look fancy but they always work. What more can I say?

husky brute 4500

Finished the wiring today, hooked up to the TV, and WOW what a workhorse! I have never had the TT lifted that high before! Made hooking up a lot easier. Went up another chain link for the WDH round bar. Slow, but smooth. A lot better than that LCI/Stromberg 3500. No regrets.

I got a husky brute 3000 for mine and it does the job just fine. Bought off amazon, no complaints. In fact the first one I got had a cracked housing in shipment. I couldn't put it on last year like right before a trip, so I went through the return process with amazon. They OVERNIGHTED a replacement for a saturday delivery. I wasn't home to use it or get it, but I cannot complain about the service from amazon.

To clarify, this was fulfilled by amazon as well, not a secondary seller through amazon.
