slide adjustment

dinette/sofa slide on 27 Laredo fifth wheel.

when closing, top hits and bottom is open about 2 inches. It will close and seal but that seems to put stress on the outside wall. The floor farthest to the inside of the rv wants to 'raise up' as the bottom of the slide seals. I have notice the hardware that holds the dinette bench frame to the slide outside wall has come loose.

Can't seem to wrap my head around the proper adjustments that would allow the slide to seal at the top and bottom at the same time.

Looking for any help. Lippert manuals don't seem to cover this issue.

Thank you

Hud

It's normal for a slide that has a "level floor" when extended to retract at an angle, and then seal. If it's gear driven, just keep, the button pushed until the slide seals and the clutch makes noise.

The contact at the top with 1 to 2 inches gap at the bottom is the proper adjustment for the slides. If there isn't that tension on the slide, the top would open up while going down the road while in turns.
