Additionally, some (not all) of the early TPO roof membrane had a gray felt backing. So, if you pull the garnish ring on your bathroom vent fan and access the roof membrane there, (it's the easiest place in most trailers) and one side is white, the other black, it's EPDM, if it's white on both sides, it's TPO and if it's white with a gray felt backing, it's "early TPO" and you maintain it the same as TPO without the backing.... Early TPO with the felt backing also was smooth on the top surface. When people started slipping off their trailers from "wet TPO" which is like walking on ice, they added the "basketball bumps" to help cut down on people falling off trailers with TPO roofing.
When Alpha Systems first came out, they recommended DICOR sealant. Then, after they started marketing their own brand of sealant, suddenly DICOR is "no longer recommended"...
DICOR sells two types of sealant, "DICOR Original" and "DICOR Lo-Voc". The Lo-Voc has less solvent in it and is "essentially the same as Alpha Systems sealant... It's sort of like using Motorcraft oil in your Ford or using Shell or Mobil 1.... Every manufacturer, if they market a product, will recommend that you use "their approved products"... Funny how that works, eh ????
