New member from WA
Hello! I'm new to the forum, but we've had our (used) 2014 Hideout 23RKS WE for about 5 years now. It's reaching the age where things are needing work, so I'm hoping I can get some advice. We bought the trailer first, then found a 2008 Lincoln Navigator to haul it. The Lincoln's a sweet ride for what's essentially an F-150.

We had a similar sized Forest River Wildwood. Loved that trailer.
Lots of experienced folks here willing to help with any questions as you start the "fix it" process.

Not sure what advice you're looking for?
But I'll advise this, a Lincoln Navigator is essentially not a F150.
They may have some of the same pieces & parts, but the 150 will have more payload, most likely better gearing & better suspension for towing.
The Navigator was designed as a pleasant riding people moving grocery getter for soccer Mom's & is great for that design, but not for towing long heavy loads.
It might be good for a snowmobile/ATV trailer or small boat, but a 6500lb 30' long rv, not so much.
Will it pull it? Of course! Should it pull it? Probably not. Is it within the weight limits of the Navigator? Probably not! Post a picture of all the tags on the drivers door jamb & let's check it out.
If you're considering a trade for another rv you probably need to get a much more suitable tow 1st then match the rv to the tow vehicle using the correct numbers to calculate with.
Not trying to rain on your parade, just wanting you & yours to travel safely!

I appreciate your concern, but we're good. We bought the trailer first, then bought something to tow it. We did our homework. The Navigator has a max GCWR of 15,000 lbs, max trailer weight of 9000 lbs, and with a weight distributing hitch the integrated hitch is rated at 8950 max gross trailer weight with 895 lb max tongue weight. The Hideout dry weight is 5258 with a GCWR of 7425, well within the Lincoln's capability. We've towed the Hideout all over Washington and Oregon with no problems.
If you park it next to an F-150 the heritage is clear, and despite the air suspension and IRS, compared to my sedan it's a truck. But my wife loves it and that's the important part because it's hers (she says she has to climb down into my car and hates to drive it). No, it can't pull as much as an F-150, but that's because it's hauling several hundred pounds of SUV body.

We have a 2013 Nissan Titan and a 2016 Passport 234. The Titan gets 14 mpg, when towing or NOT. It is a GREAT truck for the both of us. Comfortable, 4x4. crew cab. I have heard RAM, FORD, CHEVY, but it came down to price, 60,000 vs 20,000. Good luck. Richard Clayton, USCG RET,
