1700 mile trip to the beach!

We did our first long haul in the new Tracer. It was fantastic. Overland Park, KS to Surfside Beach TX. We couldn't even tell it was back there most of the time, love the EQ4! The first night our stop over was a nice park currently being upgraded, called red fox rv it was by Lake Fork, TX. ( https://redfoxrv.scfh.net/ ) The spot had 2 newly poured tire strips that were perfectly level. We didn't have to unhook so it was great. I thought my back up skills were above average, trying to hit 2 18" wide strips really tests you!

We made the beach RV Park by 2 pm on Saturday. Perfect location could see the Gulf from our front door. 20 yards away was a short path to the beach.
( https://www.surfsidebreeze.com/ ) We had more rain than we would've liked but last day was perfect. Enjoy the pics!

Looks like a fine time was had by all! Man, we loved to take our dachshund to pet friendly beaches! Life is good, huh?!

We got so many laughs because the dog has her own beach chair and camping chair!

Welcome to Texas!
If you ever decide to come down I-35 there is a good park near Davis Oklahoma; Chickasaw National Recreation Area. They take the discount cards like a COE campground. It's just the right distance for me leaving from the Houston area. Biggest issue is getting through Dallas. I try to do it on a weekend. My next stop is Melvern Lake, Kansas.
I think the Surfside jetty is paved, could be good fishing.

We definitely avoided Dallas on purpose! Houston isn't bad with the beltway. I'm only 75 miles from Melvern! Great lake we've camped there once and hauled the pontoon with another TV. Our home lake is Hillsdale another 40 miles north. When you going to Melvern?

Glad you had a successful trip. Yep, "camping dogs" are really special! Ours has always had their own chairs. They aren't spoiled at all!

I have reservations at Outlet Campground June 19 & 20. Then Gun Creek on Rend Lake in Illinois. Then Eldora Speedway New Weston Ohio.
We have stayed at Lake Melvern 3 or 4 times. Always nice and usually quiet.
I really like the Flint Hills area. Not much to see, but lots of it.
