Carbon 338 - Need 3rd head in Garage?

The unit we are looking at comes with two AC heads.

Do we need a 3rd in the garage, hubby will have an office space in there. The dealership says it's vented in the garage but don't want to find out the hard way it isn't keeping things cooled down.

Thanks in advance.

Response we got from dealership..

What say you?
"This is the reply from the dealership on the whether we would need the third unit installed or if the venting in the garage is sufficient.

"I would say yes, it has duel vents and the carbon also has the racetrack air flow system that is put in the cougar"...

What are your thoughts?

Depends where you intend to travel during the summers? If you're headed southwest you'll need the 3rd A/C.
"Dual vents" I'm guessing means there's only 2 A/C vents in the garage area? If so I'd doubt that's enough wherever you travel.

I never used the 3rd AC because I only used the garage for a garage, but if you are intending to use it as a 3rd living/office space I'd probably recommend it as the garage can get pretty warm.

As a side note on 3 AC's, you must be plugged into 50amp shore power to run all 3 at the same time. The 5500 Onan will not run all 3 (which i'm sure you will have on your new unit as per what you learned from the other thread)

If you're in Greers Ferry and plan to spend time in that kind of environment, or time in the S/SW I think you will want the 3rd unit. If DH is going to be using the garage as an office and it only has 2 vents he will definitely want all the air he can get I'm sure.

If you follow the dealer’s suggestion, please note the following: If the garage area only has discharge vents BUT not a return inlet, then closing any doorway leading from the main cabin to the garage area, will trap any air that exits the race track duct in the garage area. With no return passage way back to the main cabin area due to the closed door, the balance of supply/return air is disturbed. This result is, the main cabin returns will create a negative pressure which will draw outside air into the main cabin from whatever Nook and cranny it can find. It’s like leaving a window or entry door partially open. The 2 current ac unit’s output will diluted and you will have less cooling taking place. The best solution is to put a 3rd ac on your garage. Hopefully you have the vent in the garage pre-wired to do that.

We have the 338 and cannot imagine not having an air in there. Our dealer installed one in just a morning. We were also able to mount it in front of the fan so we didn't loose that and so it would be in front of the bed when it is up. it is not hooked to the racetrack just direct vented. I modified the discharge with some round vents that shoot down at angles. I had them put a Bluetooth thermostat where the rest of the switches are. The Onan 5500 will run all 3 fine but we rarely have the bedroom on.
