Lp tank leaking

We purchaed a new grill. I put it together and hooked it up to the propane regulator. Turned on the gas and it was hissing loudly. I just figured since the regulator was new that it was defective. I hooked it up to another propane tank and there was no hissing. What i found out was in the propank tank were you hook up the regulator there is a small O ring that was missing. So if you ever have this issue you know were to look. I have hooked up 100s of tanks in my life and never had this issue.
