External Cable TV Connection

My Carbon has three coax connections in the external convenience center. Two are labeled satellite prep. In the living room TV area behind the TV is a wall plate with two connectors. The lower one goes to the built in antenna.

We are in Del Rio TX and all I can get are Mexican stations BUT the FAMCamp supplies cable. But all the combinations I have tried get me nothing.

Any idea where the three connections terminate at the other end?

Not knowing the details of your camper, I can only suggest solutions for what worked for me.

First, connect the cable to the one in the convenience center that is NOT labeled satellite prep. Then make sure the power booster for your roof antenna is turned off. Cable should come through then.

Or, just run the cable through a window and plug it directly into the television.

It sounds like your "satellite prep" is not behind the main TV, but is in the outside convenience center. If there are three connections, two on a single plate, you probably have a "satellite/cable box interface" on that one panel with two connectors. It's intended to be an "out to the decoder box" and an "in to the trailer wiring". If you aren't using a satellite box or a cable decoder box, then there should be a "jumper cable" between the two connectors. If that's present, then turning off the "OTA antenna amplifier button" should enable the passthrough. If that doesn't work, I'd connect a direct cable to main TV and see if it works. From there, you may be able to interface with the rest of the trailer wiring.

This is what the "satellite prep panel" should look like with the bypass cable in place..... If the bypass cable is missing, then the entire trailer "satellite/cable wiring will "dead end at that connector. The cable is required to connect the exterior cable/satellite connector to the trailer wiring through that panel.

Sorry for the gloomy weather we sent you. You must make sure you OTA booster button is off. Not sure if you have the electronic switching system but easiest would be to run an RG6 cable through a window or edge of slide direct.

Turns out the transient spots did not have cable active. Just 4 crap channels but that was enough to figure out my wiring.

Thanks all.
