Removing Electric Fireplace

I would like to remove my electric fireplace so I can run a HDMI cable behind it from a splitter where I keep my satellite receiver to the Bedroom TV. I did this to my old 5er and it worked great, only drawback is both TVs have to watch the same thing. I have the cable ran loose right now but want to hide it and make it permanent. The old 5er's fireplace cover was easy to remove, on this one I can't quite figure out how to remove it.

Look on the sides where the glass is slotted, you probably find a Phillips screw on each side. remove those and then you can take the square head screws out of the frame on the sides. Easy Peasy

Couldn't see anything on the sides (it is kinda tight there) but, inside the slots in the glass there is one square head screw in each one. At the top of the glass if you pull on it slightly there are 6 screws, could these be the ones i need to remove?

Yeah the ones on the sides should come out and allow you to lift the glass. I just did one of these and I brain farted on where those 2 screws were.

Not sure if you got this figured out or not but your fire place looks the same as mine. All I needed to do was lift or slide the cover glass straight up about half an inch and it was free. No screws. Not to say it wasn't supposed to have screws but who knows.

Thanks for the info, mine has the screws right where Chuckster said they were. I ran the cable the other day but, instead of taking out the fireplace I just removed the left speaker and the DW was able to get her arm in that slot and grab the cable. On the old 5er we had the rear living and front bedroom so I had to run the cable through the floor and then loosened the coroplast down one side from the rear to the front so I had to take out the fireplace and used a 50' HDMI cable. For the Alpine it was a lot easier, the living room is in the middle so I just had to drill some small holes with a holesaw and fish the 25' cable to the bedroom TV through a step and some cabinets.
