Hello all! We had a 2016 Keystone Bullet Crossfire 1650EX but recently moved to a 2012 Keystone Springdale 294BHSSR. Although not new to RVing, we will be transitioning from a hybrid to a hard sided and bigger RV so lots more to learn. Weather cooperating, we are getting our driveway expanded next week so we can keep it at the house. We have nine trips planned in 2021 and one so far in 2022. Happy camping!

We picked up our RV this weekend. Spent some time putting on Maxxair covers, replacing the mattress, adding Eternabond to the seals (still in progress), sanitizing the water system, and other odds and ends. I still need to install the backup camera, transfer the dishes, pots and pans, and other essentials from the previous camper. I appreciated the ease of towing and backing up compared to my previous setup (19 foot camper with a Toyota Highlander).

Out of curiosity what seals are you putting Eternabond on? That's a forever type of thing and can cause problems used improperly.

I put the eternabond on the roof around the vent covers before placing the Maxxair covers. I cleaned with alcohol, primed with eternaprime, and finished with a metal roller. I’m looking at doing the perimeter of the roof as well.

The issue with using that on roof vents is the tape will outlast the cover. If a tree branch or hail storm shortens the life of the cover then worse yet.

Valid point. If/when it needs to be replaced it will be a pain to remove the tape. At least I’m protected from leaks until then.

Hope you have a good WDH with built in sway control. That trailer loaded should have somewhere north of 1,000 lb. hitch weight. I don'y know what your tow vehichle is (1/2 or 3/4 ton) but a good hitch is essential in either case. Once you get all those "pots & pans" and stuff loaded up you mioght want to male a trip to the scales.

I think that unit has a similar outdoor kitchen that we have. We use it extensivly but if yours is like ours the outside sink drains into the black tank. just an FYI. Enjoy the new rig.

We have a 3/4 ton gas with about 2,800 payload. I ran all the estimated numbers through the calculators and we are below 90% GCVWR and that’s taking into account a full fresh water tank and 1200 tongue weight. I will confirm at the CAT scale once everything is loaded. We have a 1200/12000 equalizer hitch as well. I’ll probably need to adjust it a little more once everything is loaded.

I didn’t even think about where the outdoor kitchen drains to, thanks for the heads up!

Sounds good. We see so many in your situation who don't realize there are limitations. The general layout of your unit is very similar to ours. We use 2 folding kitchen chairs to expand the seating around the table when needed. They stay on one of the rear bunks during travel and we only bring them out if we have grand children visiting.
