Cougar 29RLKWE

Thinking about upgrading to the Cougar 29RLKWE. Any owners who have one? Good or bad. Pros or Cons?

What's your tow vehicle? I am leery of any 33 foot long trailer weighing almost 10K that is being sold as a "half ton-tow-able". You can ignore the name of the trailer, any statements from the RV dealer, and any published "generic" data about trucks of your type. The only numbers that count are the ones published on your truck's door stickers applying only to your truck.

I know you asked about the trailer; but any trailer purchase MUST start by a review of your tow vehicle - otherwise you may be buying BOTH a trailer and a new tow vehicle. JMHO

That is a nice floor plan and I'm sure a good trailer. But as stated above it will be a struggle with most half ton trucks and no fun to tow. What do you intend to use to tow it? You will need a good weight distribution hitch.

Great! You should be in good shape for a tow vehicle if you decide on that trailer.

I agree! You should still run the numbers, but as Woody points out, you should be fine. Edmonds says "Maximum towing capacity with this engine [6.2] is between 11,900 and 15,000 pounds depending on axle ratio, wheels driven, cab design and single or dual rear axle."

For a 33' pull trailer, as Woody suggests you will want a good 4-point weight distribution hitch with sway control.

It is rare to have someone actually ask BEFORE a purchase. Best of luck with your shopping and purchase. As you progress, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions in the forum. There are a lot of really experienced and great members here! Lots of folks with experience on hitches, so don't hesitate to ask questions!
