Purchased 2014 Cougar

I purchased a 2014 Cougar with a wireless camera and no monitor. Are there wireless monitors only available?

The 2014 Cougar did not come from the factory with a OEM rear camera or monitor. So, what is on your trailer is a "dealer add-on" or a "previous owner add-on"... It's impossible to determine what brand that might be. You might be able to find an "owner's manual" in the paperwork that hopefully was included with your trailer. Otherwise, getting on a ladder and inspecting the camera on the trailer may give you a clue as to which brand it might be.

I would say, that in most situations, it's cheaper to buy a complete camera/monitor set than it is to try to buy a "replacement monitor" from the manufacturer of the camera system. That said, if you can find the brand and model of the camera, you may get lucky and find a monitor and wiring on EBay or Craigs List.

Is a wireless camera able to "pair" with a monitor of some other brand? I think they must all transmit on the same frequency... Just curious. BTW: after owning a number of wireless and unreliable rear view cameras, John talked me into the benefit of a wired camera. It has been bullet proof and works wthout a flicker. If you buy a new system and aren't afraid of crawling under your camper, a wired system is far more reliable.

If it's bluetooth yes, otherwise no.

Can you post a picture of the camera? Someone might be able to identify the brand.
