The OP really needs a DRW.

So your pin weight is 2,840, axles 10,260 so 13,100# total Tralier GVW.
You currently weigh 11,180# with trailer attached leaving 320# for passengers and stuff. Newer SRW one tons come with GVWR of about 12,300# and payloads of about 4,200#.

Actually, you won’t notice much difference in pin weight even if you load the garage heavy. Yes, there is a teeter totter effect, but as you add axles, it’s diminishes. A single axle trailer will have a full offset, every pound in the rear, offsets the front. Double axle, has less because the axles absorb some of the weight, when you get to a triple axle, every pound added to either end has very little effect on the other.

This is my scale ticket on our last trip a few weeks ago, I’m over it, I ordered a new dually and won’t run my personal truck on a scale again.

Also sold that garbage Anderson hitch, what a joke of a product

Good job jumping on him. Has to be a troll and they need to block him. Personally I ignored his post because it didn’t make any sense anyway.

Actually looks like you’re within specs for everything with your truck. It’s hard to read some of the door stickers and weight tickets on my phone, but from what I could see it looked good. Since you already ordered your new truck today, it doesn’t matter anymore. I’m actually surprised your truck squats as bad as it did with only 2800 lbs on the pin. What year is that? I agree on the Andersen, got rid of mine 3 years ago. People like them though, to each their own.

It was a 2017 3500hd Silverado, pending which photo you looked at I may not have had the air bags Aired up at all. It sagged a good bit.

The rear axle was good for 7000 and with the trailer it was a little over 6000 it was close enough. I’d rather no longer be restricted to weight. So with a dually I’ll run out of space to pack crap before I hit the max capacity lol

Shouldn’t have needed air bags with a 3500 and 2800 lb pin weight. Here’s mine, same truck (2019 instead of 2017), same pin weight, but level not sagging.

Heck, here is a picture of our previous 2001 Ram 2500 with a 8,800# GVWR scaled at 10,500# with a 2,800 pin and tool box in the bed. Axle rated at 6,084# and scaled at about 5,800#. No bags, just factory Camper package.

This is our current 2016 Ram 3500 DRW with the same trailer.

I’m surprised the 2500 ram did that well with the coil springs. The leaf springs tend to be about the same because they’ll squat down until they hit the helper springs, that’s the way they’re designed to work.

If you are referring to the 2001 Ram 2500 I posted it has leaf spring, as did all Ram 2500’s until 2014 I believe.
Ours also had the Camper Package which added the 3500 rear springs, but didn’t change the GVWR an ounce!

That makes sense. I don’t know all the particulars on Dodge and when they did what to them.

It looks like the dually is squatting more from the pics. Maybe just angle but the 5th wheel is also smaller than the Ford or GMC. Maybe newer trucks with better suspensions? I know most of the newer trucks are rated higher than trucks 5 or 6 year ago. The new 3500 SRW 8’ beds are all rated around 4500lb payload CC. That’s close to the older dually.
