I'll give you my perspective and experiences. First off I cannot store our trailer at home. When in a storage lot during off season I pull the battery and it goes in the garage at home. There it remains connected to a battery maintainer, not just a trickle charger. I check electrolyte levels monthly.

For the last 6 years or so we kept it at our daughter's house plugged in. Still checked electrolyte level every month. Well during the winter months of this year the GFCI failed and I didn’t know it until I went to check it. So had to replace the battery this spring.

So bottom line? If it were stored at my home where I have a 30 amp RV outlet I would leave it plugged in. I wouldn’t do it again if the electric source was out of my immediate control.
