Just wondering ....

where the servers are physically located for this forum site.

I noticed (just today) that I made a post at 8:09 pm. After it posted, the time stamp on the post said 4:09 pm. That's a 4 hour difference.

I'm in Indiana, we are on Eastern Time. Does this mean the actual servers are located in the Western time zone, and all dates and times are based on that location?

So, just wondering where all these data bytes hang out?

Thanks,

Do you have your account settings set for your time zone? The website default is Pacific time zone.

Yep, I got caught by that with the daylight savings time change 2 years ago. We were in Las Vegas at the time and my "forum posts were way off on time"... I had my laptop set to "automatically change time zones" and it "fixed the forum time stamp" without me knowing or realizing it...

scroll down, next to the bottom box and make sure your time zone is correct... Don't forget to scroll to the very bottom and click on SAVE CHANGES or nothing will happen when you close the window....

Thank-you everyone. I got it changed in my settings to Eastern. Yes, it was set for Pacific. The first post on this thread changed also. I guess we all learn something new ever day!

Still wondering where the servers are actually located for this forum site though?

My laptop says 7:49 PM. Lets see if the forum site records that way???

Thanks again!
