How to raise my Anderson Hitch

Anderson 5th wheel Hitch

I have had mine for several year now with no problems, but would like to gain some extra height to the ball. I have changed the ball out already and I have it at its highest adjustment.

My questions, can you attach a couple layer of plywood to the base? I know that Anderson sells mat that's 3/4 thick so I don't understand why it wouldn't work..Trying my best to avoid bed rails!

Sure it's possible. Plywood will work, but it will also break down with time. I no longer have the Andersen but when I did I welded up a base using light steel to lift mine about 1". I have the taller B&W ball to make sure it would work with the hitch being a little higher up. As long as the torques are set correctly it will work. I had no problem at all with mine.

Thank you for your input! Might consider making it out of steel. Thanks again

Is your pin box at it's lowest position?? You can gain bed rail clearance by lowering the pin box.
