Classic car and camper

We spotted this combo yesterday in La Belle, Florida. Pretty 'snazzy!'

Good looking combo...but I worry about his gross weight and tow capacity. This may deserve a 60+post debate in this thread.

Nah, he's good. Note he's apparently aware of his GVW, there's no cargo in the cargo carrier and his tires aren't "flat on the bottom" so he's got them properly inflated. Besides, no doubt he's got antique plates on the El Camino, so the gendarmes will be "too busy looking and admiring" and IIRC, yellow vehicles have always been exempt from scrutiny. Sort of like "complimentary membership in the YMOC exempted owners of yellow mustangs from speed limit enforcement...

Curious as to what motor and axle ratio. I think a 396/3.73 combo would be ideal.

It looks like the camper was made for that body style by the way it fits in the bed and along the the cab lines behind the cab and over the roof. I give it a 10 on the cool factor. Those cars/pickups were popular around here, but never seen 1 with more than a cab height shell on the bed.
