Equalizer 4pt hitch 10k or 12k question

Going on their website it seems to put me on the 1k/10k hitch.

My tongue weight pending on what I’m taking on a particular trip, could be between 750-950lbs.

My question though is do I go 1200/12000 hitch?
They say the 10k is good 1000lbs tongue weight with the sweet spot between 600 - 1000 lbs.
And the 12k has its rating between 800-1200 lbs tongue weight.

Do I go with the bigger 12k to be on the lower end of the limit possibly stiff ride?
Or 10k and be on the upper end of the limit with possible less control?/ and a too soft ride?

Info on truck and trailer:
Truck
2016 2.7 ecoboost
1530 payload
7600 towing capacity

2016 Springdale 260TBWE

I’m conflicted.
Anyone tow a little bit lighter of a trailer with a heavier duty than necessary hitch like I describe?

I’ve posed the question previously but maybe not as clear as what I’m making it now I hope.

I tow a 24' Cougar dry hitch weight of 530#. Realistically about 750# loaded. I have the 10000# E4 with 1000# bars. Don't notice any sort of stiff ride. Mind you I run LRE Carlisles at 80# and truck tires 275/65R18 at 50#. This combo gives the best ride and fuel economy. Outfit sits dead level.

In your situation I don't think it's going to make much difference. If you run up to 950 lbs. on the tongue there will be virtually no difference in the ride between the 1000 and 1200 bars.

I run about 1100 on the tongue and use the 1200 bars. Initially the dealer installed 1000 bars and I didn't notice. When I did (when I got home with the trailer) I called them and told them I had said 1200. Had to take it back and get the 1200. No difference in ride whatsoever but the 1000 lb. bars would have been overloaded. I do believe somewhere in there (maybe talking to Progressive who makes the Equalizer) I recall them saying it took a heavier shank for the 1200-1400 lb. bars (14k lb.). It may have been the 14k. shank went on the hitches with 1000 - 1400 lb. bars and not the lighter hitches? Just check to be sure.

Back to ride; it may be that your 1/2 ton might feel a difference more than my HD but I can't tell ANY difference - in fact, I did the same thing on my 1/2 ton (Ram 1500) and had the same result. I think in your case I would go with the 1200 if you think you're going to push that 1000 lb. rating. The 1000 lb. bars would probably suffice if you never go over that limit but I don't think the additional 200 lb. rating is going to make any difference - and give you a little comfort space.

Thanks for the feedback.
I think I’ve made a decision to go the 1200/12k setup.
Appreciate the advice!
