Why doesn't the LED work?

My buddy was switching out all of his interior incandescent bulbs to LED but there's one fixture where they don't work. The bulb is the 1141 style with a single bottom post and so it doesn't seem to be an obvious polarity issue. He's tried several LED bulbs and none of them work.
Do any of you LED gurus have any words of wisdom?

Since incandescent 12v bulbs don't care about polarity, it is possible that the fixture is wired reverse. He should be able to swap those wires to get it to work if that's the issue.

Turn the bulb around and if you can't do that then bend the wires on the bulb to opposite sides and it'll work. If its a fixture with two bulbs put one bulb in and do what I said above and they'll both work
