Vantage Slideout Cable Breaking

Hopefully this one wont lead to another recall but just wanted to pass on to you all our latest problem.

I was out doing my usual walk around while my tanks were draining and found that the upper right cable on my slideout was shredding apart.

Right now it appears that the outer strands are broken but the core is still undamaged. I dont know how long it will stay that way and if it does break, how badly will that effect the slides operation. I still have to bring it in so that I can transport it to a local dealer.

I will keep you all informed.

Vantage Slideout Cable Breaking

Dang, that doesn't look good at all. I hope it's not another design defect that they never discovered because they didn't make enough units. Had you had any symptoms that the slideout was not working smoothly?

I had that happen to my bedroom slide when traveling down the road there is Frame Flex and the cable rubs on the slide frame because there is flex in that area, hope that is not your problem. There is a small hole in the slide frame for the cable to go through so a little out of align and this is what happens...good luck
