GoodSam GPS by Rand Mcnally at Camping World

This GPS sounds pretty interesting especially because you can define the dimensions of your RV and it helps to route you around low clearances. My question does anyone have any first hand experience with this specific GPS unit/ It is called a Good Sam 7735. Thanks!

We use the Rand McNally RV GPS model 7720 and really like it! With a tall 5er I would not travel without it. Provides much peace of mind! Can also download Points of Interest...examples: Walmart, Cracker Barrels, Camping Worlds, etc. Can also subscribe to low clearance poi Web service, download low clearance points of interest and load to gps. Can also use Goodsam trip Planner on Web and download to GPS.

MUST HAVE DEVICE. Now there may be others on the market but this is what wr have used and is now a critical piece of tech for us. Rand McNally provides routine updates as well so I feel like we are getting value from this.

BTW...we still use Waze or Google maps for best real-time traffic alerts.

Over 7000 US and 800 Canada low POI'S. GPS out of the box doesn't have nearly as many.

Just received an alert from low clearance service...reasonable subscription fee...

We are very pleased to announce that we have released a huge upgrade for
the Route-1 low clearance database. The USA data has been vastly improved
with more than 2000 additions taking it to over 7000 locations.

There have also been a significant amount of corrections and deletions
making this latest edition the best it's ever been. The Canada data has
also been updated to now include over 800 locations.

The data is available for Garmin, Microsoft Streets & Trips, Google Earth,
TomTom, MapSource, and Rand McNally. You can access all of the formats
that you require for your personal use.

We always appreciate your feedback or suggestions for future enhancements.

If you come across a bridge that isn't in the database, please take the
time to send us a note with its height and location - we will do the rest.

TO DOWNLOAD THE LATEST UPDATE:

You can download the latest version at any time from your member's area.

I have no experience with the Good Sam gps, but would suggest the Garmin dezl trucker model based on my everyday experience with it. It will let you set any profile for truck/trailer, rv, or car. All restrictions will be shown based on your inputs, with no need to cob together other downloads or patches. It also supports routing based on real time traffic conditions.

Not all "RV" GPS's are for use with towing trailers. Read what I found out here (posts #1 and 6)-
http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24995

See if this issue applies to any "RV" GPS you may buy.
