Underbelly Adventures
My hubby and I were enjoying a fine cup of coffee Saturday morning at Withrow Springs State Park in Arkansas, when I heard a noise coming from below the dinette in the rear of the camper.
Upon investigating, we discovered a square cutout in the coroplast near the waste ports. Must have allowed a squirrel to get in, we thought.
We tried banging on the underbelly to drive the thing out. After a lengthy period of quiet, we figured the varmint had left, so Ken sealed the hole with duct tape. All was quiet for a while, and then we heard movement again.
Tried banging on the underbelly again with no success, so Ken opened up a hole under the rear and peaked in.
“It’s a bunch of kittens!”
It took a few minutes to coax the four kittens out, with no mother to be found.
We didn’t know what to do; they appeared to be only about 3 weeks old. Fortunately the park ranger was able to talk a rescue group in to picking them up.
Best catmping trip ever!
