Heat Pump??? (HELP)

Just bought a new Montana 3121, the main thermostat operates the furnace for the entire unit. I've gone through the options and only see cold, heat and fan. How do you get to the heat pump option, let alone use it and is it worth the trouble?

On our Raptor, to use the heat pump the "system" mode must be set in "Heat", then each zone can be set using either "Elect" or "Gas". If you select "Elect" then the AC unit comes on as a heat pump; if you select "Gas" then the propane floor furnace starts up.

I'm not sure that will help for your Montana.

Edit: realized I didn't answer your questions...I have not been impressed with the heat pumps in the Raptor. They are noisy (AC units running), require shore power or generator, and just didn't seem to get very toasty very fast. If we have shore power (or the generator) we use the fireplace (which includes 1800W heater) and a couple of small 1200/1800W floor heaters. In the morning, we might turn on the propane main furnace, but just to attack the early morning chill. If you don't have the heat pump option, I wouldn't pay anything extra for it in my opinion.

Larry I am assuming it has the heat pump? Keystone has changed their website yet again and I didn't see it where it used to be but my memory tells me it came with one.

What kind of thermostat do you have? Mine had a Dometic and as you scrolled through the modes of operation "heat pump" would show in small letters at the bottom of the screen (as I recall - replaced it with a MicroAir). Yours may be something entirely different.

Do you have 2 air conditioners? Do you have 2 thermostats. If you do, one AC is 13,500 BTU and the other will be 15,000 BTU with the heat pump. If you have 2 thermostats, check the other one.

If you have 2 air conditioners and everything is controlled on 1 thermostat control, I'm clueless then.
