2013 Passport 2650 BH ultralite

Hi, We are new to camping and just bought a 2013 passport ultralite. We want the fridge to run on propane when we are travelling to campsite but not the hot water heater. Where is the switch to shut off the hot water heater? When we unplug the camper the fridge switches automatically to gas and the hot water heater fires up. I can't find any switch on our control panel that is specific to hot water.

Do you have a switch labeled gas? If you do, turn it off. A picture of your panel and the brand of your WH will help

My old passport had a separate switch. If I remember correctly it was lit up red when on.

It is an Atwood. There is a propane switch on control panel but that is for the fridge too. it shut off both water heater and fridge when we shut it off.

That sounds like it’s not wired correctly. The only gas switch for the fridge should be on the fridge. The other switch is supposed to just be for the water heater.

Agree with Tom.
If that switch affects the fridge in any way someone has been altering the wiring & should be redone ASAP.
Any changes to the fridge ooperation should only be done on the control panel of the fridge ONLY!
