Awning loose

Last night when I was putting my awning away (first time I have had it out) I found that it doesnt want to wind up on its own...Like the spring in there is too loose.
I know that the awning hasnt been pulled out in a couple of years...maybe just lubrication somehow?
Anyone know how to tighten these? Its an A&E

Is it a manual or power awning? Are you referring to both ends not rolling up fully or just one end? The roller is equipped with separate torsion springs (one on each end that work idependantly from one another). Could be one of your springs failed. I had this happen once and has to replace the spring.

Thanks for responding....Its a manual A&E ......Seems like both sides are about equal....If I help it along, it rolls up.....The awing apparently been rolled up without use for a couple of years....wonder if it just needs lubrication?......
