If I go hardwired does it go before or after the generator transfer module. In otherwords does it cover the generator or just shore power?

No.. and they're over an inch above mounting surface so not easily clamped.

See instructions https://rvpower.southwire.com/wp-con...0115-C-DSG.pdf

I'm the proud owner of the Southwire, but I'm not a fan.. It was all the dealer could get when I purchased it last July.. It is finicky about mounting and you have to buy the remote extra and then install it.. Dealer put mine in wrong and I had to remount it...
Well this is why I do a lot of my own work, not all professionals are very professional.

On page 2 of the install instructions is shows that the cables need to be clamped within 7" of the unit to remove strain.

Javi, I see why you are an owner, but NOT a fan.

Javi, does the remote display show the number of amps being used on each leg, and the current voltage to each line?

Yes but functionality is cumbersome at best.. see this https://rvpower.southwire.com/wp-con...-Sheet-DSG.pdf

I plug my Progressive EMS into the 30A out on a pedestal and then plug my trailer cord into it. I have never worried about installation. I had a previous Progressive EMS (same one as I have now) fail while camping and they promptly replaced it. I did pull it out of service at the campground and went without till we got back home and my new unit was waiting for us and has functioned fine since. The Progressive EMS was once USA made and is now made in the 3rd world. Are failures more likely? Dunno. You can root around behind your converter and use your bluetooth gizmos but I like to be able to put my EMS in place and remove when we leave a campground.
