What does "Wired for Solar" really mean?

My 2018 Carbon says "wired for solar". So what does that really mean? I see the port on the roof, then a sticker panel inside that's just a sticker that says "pre-wired solar cables located behind decal". Then have a plug inside that I have no idea what it is. See pics. So this is what I want to do...
1) Mount my solar panels to the roof. Easy peasy.
2) I guess I need a charge controller, right?
3) If I get an inverter can I just connect it from my battery to my surge protector?
4) If I connect to shore power will it fry my inverter?

So many "if's" on this. Not much info that came with the RV.
It's a GoPower wired RV.

First picture is a remote “thermistor” that senses the temperature in the room it’s located. Your thermostat is most likely in a different room.

The second picture is where you would mount the “controller”. The third picture is the roof plate that you plug the panel(s) into. Go power has different wattage panels and you can use “branch” connectors to join multiple panels together.

Go power sells “packages” that will include the controller and then you can purchase “expansion” kits to add panels.

If your adding an inverter, that’s different.

Thank you Chuckster. I wondered what that sensor was for.
