30' Premier brow lights

I just got a 30' Keystone Premier. The front string of led lights at the very top had a few lights that didn't work. A service tech informed me that it would be a easy fix as all I had to do was pull the lights off and replace with the new string and that the wires would plug together. Upon further inspection, this is not the case. It seems as though the wires may have been joined by butt connectors and I cant seem to get to the butt connectors in order to replace the string of lights. I think the connectors are larger than the exterior hole that I'm trying to pull them through.
If anyone has some advice, I would really appreciate it.

Without actually seeing the problem, is it feasible to snip the wires where YOU CAN get to them and install your new string with butt connectors again?

Yes, I can certainly snip the wires, and I'll probably do so once I try one more time to visually see the factory connectors.
More than likely, due to it being under warranty, I will just take the time and return to the lot and let them take care of it.
