#1 no problem, depending on the battery and temp set you could get a overnight use use on the battery.
#2 Likely you will not be able to hand light the furnace, all depends on the furnace and reasons it may fail? there could be many.
#3 Run it while plugged in, it works that way same as at a park. Why would you not have it plugged in to run anything in the trailer unless it is not available. Having the trailer plugged in and having the power switch if you have one turned on will charge the battery and run everything, not all at once but most items.
How do you use the power system while camping? It's the same at the lot. Shore power is best.
