Any battery will discharge over a period of time even if fully disconnected.. how much discharge and time period is a variable from battery to battery

Since many of us are in "violent agreement" regarding lead-acid battery discharge, here is a value for the rate - 5% per month. Here is a good website for battery knowledge.

Batteries discharge

My new deep cycles where only charged from the dealer about 80%. I would charge them for an hour and they would show 12.72V. Next day they where at 12.5 with battery disconnected. Tried the same thing with black lead disconnected. Next day same thing.
Brought them into the house and charged them using "Deep Cycle" at 2 Amps for 12-18 hours. Now both batteries show 13.52V and holding.

Happy camping.

I might look into that small solar panel that trickle charges the battery.
