Leaking toilet valve

Flush valve will not close completely when you flush. Have to bump it to make sure it closes completely or the water leaks out of bowl.

It could be the seal is askew or the flapper may be hanging up. You can lubricate the seal with petroleum jelly, and while doing so press up to make sure the seal is fully seated.

Turn off the water and wear gloves.

I bet you have a Thetford toilet in your rig. If so, save yourself the headache and just replace the toilet with a Dometic 310 or 320. Our friends several years ago had an issue with their toilet, and had thousands of dollars in damage due to their rig being flooded. We had the pedal fly off late one night, causing the water to run with the valve closed and water rapidly rising before I was able to twist the shaft closed. The replacement Dometic has been trouble free for almost four years.
