Such an Easy Fix

Every time I tried to turn on the light over the dinette and either knocked the table almost over or had to contort to get my finger in the right spot to push the little on button I promised I would fix it. I finally did. I installed a chain pull switch. Easy fix.

Our new/used Monty had both the dining table and couch dome lights (not the DC ones) mounted with the push button switches towards the wall instead of to the inside. Why they did that at the factory I'll never, NEVER understand. Wasn't difficult to just turn the whole fixture 180 degrees and life is good.

Even when building a house or shop you need to specify where to install the wall switches and which one does what or the logic of the switch location and what it controls is not logical.

There is an art and science to proper switch location/position logic (and shape if its an airplane) and Boeing is king in that regard. Switch engineering design is sorely lacking in these trailers, but then...the pricing is more reasonable. Life is a compromise, and sometimes a welcome compromise.

Did you then use a 3 way pull? Ours had the push button and 3 lamps and so I had installed a 3 way switch (twist in my case worked fine) so I then have control over light from dim to bright.
